Train timetables

Rodalies de Catalunya is the new entity that manages the transports of suburban trains for Catalunya, replacing Renfe, so that C2 line becomes R2 line. R2 line is currently the only line that arrives at the airport from Barcelona or other cities from Catalunya.

Travellers from Maçanet-Massanes station have a direct train to the airport, with no changes. Those from Estación de Francia (Estació de França) can use R2 Sud line trains to travel to Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona Sants or el Prat, where to change trains and continue with nord R2 line to the airport El Prat.

The train station is located very close to the terminal T2. If your flight leaves from terminal T1, you must take a shuttle bus, that is waiting to pick up passengers outside the station. Bustransit T1T2 is free and takes you to the terminal T1 at approximately 8 to 10 minutes

This schedule is updated frequently and sometimes varies from a couple of minutes, and although you will probably have to wait a bit at the station, it is preferable that you arrive in plenty of time to both the station and the airport.

Trains to Sitges, Vilanova Castelldefels, Vilanova and Sitges

The route from trains to go to southern cities of Barcelona, like Viladecans, Gava, Castelldefels, Sitges and Vilanova, will go through R2 Sud line. You will have to make transfer at El Prat de Llobregat station to go to any of these cities.

We recommend checking the destination of the train because there are several trains with final destination Castelldefels, and not go beyond: not going either to Castelldefels beach (Cast. Platja) or Sitges or Vilanova, and only runs Monday through Friday.
